Each of these manufacturers builds engines with different service philosophies, torque characteristics, and electronic control systems, which is why so many marine shops specialize in only one or two brands. Our team has instead invested in cross-brand certification and diagnostic equipment so that whether you’re running twin Volvo Penta IPS pod drives, a Caterpillar C-series diesel in a commercial hull, a Mercury outboard on a center console, or a Detroit Diesel powering a tug, you’re getting a technician who has actually worked on that exact platform before.
Mercury and Yamaha outboards make up a large share of the recreational fleet we service, and our mobile mechanics carry OEM-spec parts for both so that routine maintenance, fuel system work, and lower-unit repairs can often be handled dockside without hauling the boat. On the inboard and diesel side, Cummins, Yanmar, and Caterpillar engines are the backbone of most cruisers and trawlers in the region, and we handle everything from routine oil analysis and injector service to full engine rebuilds when a block reaches the end of its service life.
MTU and Detroit Diesel platforms tend to show up in larger yachts and commercial vessels where downtime is expensive and reliability isn’t optional. These are engines that reward preventative maintenance, and our approach is to catch small issues in cooling systems, turbochargers, and fuel injection before they turn into a haul-out. That same philosophy carries over to Volvo Penta, where we see a lot of sterndrive and IPS systems that need specialized alignment and electronic diagnostic work that a generalist shop simply isn’t equipped to do.
