VTS Marine at Steveston Harbour

outboard boat motor repair

VTS Marine works out of Steveston Harbour — home to the largest commercial fishing harbour in Canada, on the south arm of the Fraser River in Richmond, BC. Vessel haul-outs are handled through the on-site travel lift, and both dry land storage and moorage are available through the harbour. Below is a quick reference for lift and storage pricing, pulled directly from the harbour and boatyard so you know what to expect before you arrive.

Travel Lift

The travel lift at Steveston Harbour is operated independently by Strait Marine (604-277-1414), not by VTS Marine or the Harbour Authority — they set their own pricing and scheduling. Their 70-ton lift handles vessels up to 80ft in length and 24ft beam, and must be booked at least one business day in advance. The published rate is $280/hour (applies after the first hour of a lift or launch); same-day bookings, if space allows, add a $100 fee on top of the lift rate, and emergency off-hours lifts run $280/hour. Exact per-lift pricing depends on vessel size and is best confirmed directly with Strait Marine’s office.

Storage & Moorage Rates

Vessel land storage at Steveston Harbour is billed the same way as moorage, based on vessel length (rates effective August 1, 2025, from the Steveston Harbour Authority): active licensed commercial fishing vessels are $0.55/metre/day, while pleasure craft are $5.23/metre/day. Paying in advance brings the pleasure craft rate down — $44.09/metre for 1 month, $40.56/metre for 2–5 months, or $35.27/metre for 6+ months. All rates are subject to GST plus environmental and sediment management fees, and are set by the Harbour Authority, not VTS Marine.

Disclaimer: Travel lift and storage rates listed above are set independently by Strait Marine and the Steveston Harbour Authority, not by VTS Marine, and are subject to change without notice. Please confirm current pricing directly with Strait Marine (604-277-1414) or the Steveston Harbour Authority (604-272-5539) before making arrangements.
